How different is GMB’s new Google Business Profiles?
In addition to the name change, Google has announced that single listings will now be managed directly within Google Maps and Google Search.
To manage a listing, the owner can simply type their business name into Google Search. They’ll then be presented with this control panel:

So How Do I Add, Update or Claim My Google Business Profile
If you are already have a verified profile and are managing it then all you need to do is go to Google Search and look for your business name. If found, it will show boxes underneath it, as shown in the image above, which are self explanatory and you can do everything from there.
If you don’t have a Google Business Profile then search for ‘Google Business Profile Help’. There you can create an account and build your profile.

Google Maps and Search Become More Powerful With The Addition of This Element
Google has also announced that additional tools will soon become available to help businesses understand and boost their local search performance.
For now, it’s added the ability to do more things directly from Google Maps and Search, including:
- Claim a business listing
- Verify the listing
- Send and receive messages to customers
- Manage reviews and Q&As
- Track data on inbound calls that came from Google Business Profile (US and Canada to start with, potentially rolling out to other countries soon)
This expands on the elements dispatched in August 2020 by permitting businesses to alter their profile straightaway on Search or Maps, without expecting to visit another application or site.
Google additionally added another informing highlight in Business Profile. Businesses can message clients directly from Search, which is now accessible in Maps, and view receipts when informing on Search or Maps.
